Program A - 1 Week Adventure (Monday to Sunday) through the summer and fall months.</span style="caret-color:>
Day 1: Arrival and Campfire Welcome
•Participants arrive at the beautiful campsite in Hope, BC, where they'll be introduced to the program's itinerary and safety guidelines.
•Engaging icebreaker games to help the youth get to know each other and create a sense of camaraderie.
•Evening campfire welcome with storytelling, where Indigenous Elders share fascinating legends and tales.
Day 2: Paddle Power and Team-Building
•Canoeing skills workshop: Instructors teach fundamental paddling techniques and water safety tips.
•Group canoeing games and races on the serene waters of a nearby lake to promote teamwork and friendly competition.
•Nature hike to explore the surroundings, with opportunities to spot local wildlife and learn about Indigenous connections to the land.
Day 3: River Canoe Journey
•Embark on an exciting full-day canoe journey along the scenic Fraser River, surrounded by stunning landscapes and natural beauty.
•Picnic lunch by the riverside, enjoying traditional Indigenous snacks.
•Evening camp setup near the riverbank, followed by stargazing and storytelling under the night sky.
Day 4: Cultural Immersion
•Cultural exchange with local Indigenous communities, offering insights into their traditions, crafts, and way of life.
•Indigenous art and craft workshops, where participants can create their own mementos to take home.
•Evening celebration with traditional Indigenous dance and music performances.
Day 5: Foraging and Feast
•Guided foraging experience, learning about edible plants and their traditional uses from Indigenous guides.
•Participants collaborate in preparing a special feast using foraged ingredients, embracing Indigenous culinary practices.
•Campfire games and storytelling to end the day with laughter and connection.
Day 6: Canoeing Adventure Continues
•Continue the canoe journey along the river, stopping at a picturesque spot for a relaxing lunch by the water.
•Team-building challenges, problem-solving activities, and trust-building exercises to enhance the bond among participants.
•Evening camp setup and a memorable farewell campfire celebration with songs and reflections.
Day 7: Closing Ceremony and Reflections
•Group reflections on the transformative experiences and newfound appreciation for Indigenous culture and the wilderness.
•Closing ceremony to honor the journey, the land, and the river that brought everyone together.
•Departure with cherished memories and a stronger connection to Indigenous heritage and the natural world.
